Your data, plainly explained

URU is a business-management app for laundry, fashion, and retail businesses, covering order tracking, customer records, sales, and payments, run by the business owner and their staff. This page explains what information URU collects, why, and how it's handled.

Who this applies to

URU is used by business owners and their staff to run day-to-day operations. This policy covers both the account holder who signs up their business, and any staff member invited to use the app under that business. It also covers the customer records a business enters into URU about the people they serve.

What we collect

Account and staff

Full name, phone number, email address, and role (Owner, Manager, or Staff) for anyone who signs in.

Business details

Business name, address, phone number, logo, and the products or services you sell.

Customer records

Name, phone, email, address, and any notes a business chooses to enter about their own customers.

Orders and payments

Order details, item photos, sale amounts, payment method, and payment status recorded through the app.

Photos

Business logo and product photos you choose to take or upload. Nothing is accessed from your camera or photo library without you selecting it.

Device permissions

Camera and photo library for the photos above, and, if you enable it, a floating on-screen bubble for quick sale entry (which requires a foreground service permission on Android to keep running while you use other apps).

What we don't do

We don't run advertising or install analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
We don't sell or rent any business or customer data to third parties.
We don't access your contacts or location.

Who processes your data

Data is handled by a small number of service providers, each doing one specific job:

Supabase, which hosts the app's database, authentication, and file storage (photos, business logos).
Paystack, which processes online card and bank payments when a business enables that option. Card numbers are entered directly with Paystack and never pass through URU's own servers.
Brevo, which sends transactional emails (order confirmations, receipts) on a business's behalf, when that feature is enabled.

None of these providers use your data for their own marketing or resell it.

How long we keep data

Business, staff, customer, and order data is kept for as long as the business's account is active. If a business closes its account, its data is deleted from active systems within 30 days, aside from records we're legally required to retain for financial or tax purposes.

Your choices

Staff and business owners can review and correct their own account details at any time inside the app.
A business owner can request export or deletion of their business's data by contacting us below.
Camera and photo library access can be revoked at any time from your device's settings. The app will simply be unable to take or attach photos until re-enabled.

Children's privacy

URU is a business tool and is not directed at, or knowingly used by, children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the effective date above and, where required, notify account holders in the app.
